Decorating with Mirrors

Mirrors can be a beautiful addition to your homes decor. They reflect light into the room and make the space feel bigger.

Here a few things to think about when decorating with mirrors

Creating a focal point

Mirrors can be hung over mantles, or buffets to direct the viewers attention to the desired space.

Vignetting the mirror with ornaments or some framed photographs adds finishing touches.

Functionality V’s style

A bathroom mirror is essential. But it doesn’t have to be just the mirror stuck to the wall.

A beautifully framed mirror can tie in your decor from the rest of the house.

Consider the reflection

You may have a perfect wall space for the mirror, but what will it be reflecting?

Hang mirrors opposite windows or across from an architectural element, or a piece of art.

Hanging the mirror opposite something that is visually appealing raises the impact.

Height is everything

We usually hang art work at eye level. With mirrors, this rule need not apply.

Hang the mirror to the appropriate height in relation to what you want reflected.
